Commercial and Office Renovations in Tarragona
A business doesn’t get renovated like a home does. Here what matters is the opening date and an activity licence sorted in time. We take care of both.
For a business, opening on time is money
Every week the shutter stays down is rent you’re paying, staff waiting around, and customers walking straight past a half-finished unit. That’s why a business renovation isn’t judged only on how it looks, but on the day you can open.
When someone calls us to renovate their shop or office in Tarragona, they almost never ask about the colour of the walls first. They ask about four other things, and those are what we put first from the very first visit:
- The timeline. We plan backwards from your opening date: which week each trade comes in, which days there’ll be noise, and when you can start fitting out. The date is signed off, not just promised verbally.
- The activity licence. Prior notification or a licence with a technical project, depending on what you’re doing. We process it while the work is under way, so the opening doesn’t sit waiting on a council desk.
- Accessibility. Step-free entrance, adapted toilet, routes and evacuation. In a space open to the public it isn’t an extra — it’s what lets you open at all.
- Soundproofing. So the noise doesn’t reach the neighbours, whether it’s your music or your machinery. Essential in restaurants and in any premises trading late.
On top of that base we build the rest: layout, installations, finishes and image. We work with a fixed-price quote broken down by line item and a single site manager who answers to you, not to seven subcontractors. If you want to see how it turns out, there are shops and offices among our finished projects, and our customer reviews are written by people who’ve already opened.
The shopfront and the layout sell for you
A shop starts selling before the customer even walks through the door. The shopfront, the lighting and the first thing you see on entering decide whether someone walks past or stops. That’s why, in a unit open to the public, the work isn’t just about knocking down partitions — it’s about designing a route through the space.
We arrange the space so the eye goes where you want it to, put the light on the product rather than the aisle, and keep the till point and the storeroom out of the way so they don’t eat into selling space. From a street-level shop near the Rambla Nova and the Eixample to a bakery workshop or a tasting room around El Serrallo, every activity calls for its own layout.
And if your business needs more than building work — a memorable look, materials with character, an atmosphere — we bring our interior design team into the project from the start, with a single quote and a single calendar.
Offices where people genuinely enjoy working
A well-resolved office shows every single day: in the quiet, in the light, and in a space that can adapt as the team grows.
In an office, a studio or a clinic, comfort is a working tool. We look after four things that mark the difference between an office that wears you down and one you actually want to be in:
- Layout. Desks, meeting areas and shared spaces arranged around how you actually work, with room to grow without further building work.
- Rooms. Meetings, reception and focus spaces kept apart from the general bustle, so a phone call doesn’t interrupt half the floor.
- Acoustics. Ceilings, partitions and floors that absorb sound; open-plan only works if the noise doesn’t bounce around.
- Installations. Data cabling kept tidy, air conditioning that reaches every corner, and electrics sized for what you plug in today and what you’ll plug in tomorrow.
One of the jobs we remember most fondly was a small office a client was opening to launch their own business: we tailored it from top to bottom, from the layout to the finishes, and left it ready to open on day one with the team already inside. Starting a business is hard enough as it is; the premises shouldn’t be another problem.

Frequently asked questions
Can I stay open while you do the work?
In many partial renovations, yes. We schedule the dusty or noisy phases outside your trading hours — first thing in the morning, in the evening or at weekends, whatever the building and noise regulations allow — and fence off the working area so the door can stay open. If the scope means you have to close, you know that from the very first calendar we give you, and we keep it to the fewest days possible.
Who handles the activity licence and the opening?
We do. Depending on your activity you’ll need a prior notification or a licence with a technical project; we prepare the paperwork, submit it to Tarragona City Council and deal with any requirements until you can open. We process it in parallel with the building work, not after it’s finished, so the paperwork never delays your opening.
Does the renovation meet accessibility and fire protection rules?
Yes, and it isn’t optional in a space open to the public. We sort out step-free access, an adapted toilet where required, evacuation routes, emergency lighting and signage. If your activity needs smoke extraction or soundproofing — restaurants and bars especially — it’s built into the project from the first drawing.
How long does it take to renovate an office or a shop in Tarragona?
As a local benchmark: a small office or consulting room usually takes 3 to 5 weeks; a street-level shop, between 4 and 8; a restaurant unit with a full kitchen and installations, between 8 and 12. Before you sign, we give you a week-by-week calendar and an opening date, not a “we’ll see”.
Do you work with my signage, my furniture, or my franchise’s brand image?
Yes. We coordinate the work with your sign-maker, your furniture supplier and, if you’re opening a franchise, with its brand manual and its deadlines. One single site manager fits everyone into the calendar so that on opening day nobody’s missing and no trade is left out.
