Full home renovations in Tarragona
Your whole flat or house, rethought and rebuilt by one team: layout, services, bathroom, kitchen and finishes. With a proper plan drawn up first, a fixed-price quote broken down by item, and a handover date we stick to.
What a full renovation really includes
A full renovation isn’t stacking trades on top of each other until the flat looks new. It’s a single project where every decision — where the drainpipe runs, how high a socket sits, how much light reaches the hallway — answers to how you live, not to a catalogue.
We start where a job’s real quality is decided: what you won’t see afterwards. New water, electrical and climate services, insulation where cold or noise are a problem, and new exterior windows and doors if the old ones no longer close properly. With that groundwork sorted, we get to what you touch every day:
- A genuine new layout: taking down the walls that get in the way and putting up the ones that bring order, to gain light and usable space.
- A complete bathroom and kitchen, with materials chosen with you on the drawings, not decided halfway through the job.
- Flooring, doors, paintwork and lighting thought through room by room.
- Site management and coordination of every trade, with a single person who answers to you.
We renovate flats, penthouses and houses across Tarragona: the grand high-ceilinged flats with long hallways in the Eixample, the stone buildings of the Part Alta inside the old walls, the fishermen’s houses of El Serrallo by the harbour. Our office is on Carrer de la Unió, a stone’s throw from the Rambla Nova — when there’s a job on, we walk over.
From idea to keys in hand
This is how we organise a full renovation so you always know what’s happening this week, and who’ll be there, at home.
Site visit and information gathering
We walk the property with you. You tell us what isn’t working and how you’d like to live; we tell you what’s possible and what isn’t worth touching.
Design and fixed-price quote
Drawings of the new layout, materials decided and the price broken down by item. What you sign is what you pay, fixed before the first hammer blow.
Work in phases, one point of contact
Demolition, services, tiling, carpentry, painting. Every week you know exactly where things stand, and for anything at all you call one person.
Handover and written guarantee
We go through every last detail together before handing you the keys. The guarantee is written into the contract, alongside materials and timelines.
Turning over the idea of renovating the whole flat? At the first visit, we’ll tell you what’s viable and what isn’t worth it.
Why trust your full renovation to RT
It’s by far the biggest job you’ll do on your home; it’s worth knowing whose hands it’s in. We’ve been renovating in Tarragona for over twenty years, and today, with 54 reviews and a 4.98 out of 5, we’re among the best rated in the city. What people who’ve been through it say most often:
- Fixed-price quote broken down by item. The price is set before we start. If something unforeseeable turns up once we open a wall, we show it to you, price it separately, and you decide.
- A date that holds. One client had to move for work and needed a fixed handover date; they got it. When the schedule is tight, we say so upfront, not afterwards.
- We suggest, not just execute. For a client who wanted to make use of the dead space under the stairs, we drew up a bespoke cupboard that hadn’t existed before. If we spot a better idea, we tell you.
You can see finished renovations — before and after — in projects, and read what our clients say, unfiltered, in reviews.
How much does it cost, and how long does it take, in Tarragona?
Every home is different, but we won’t leave you without a benchmark. In Tarragona, a full renovation typically runs between €620 and €1,100/m² excl. VAT depending on quality and scope, and between 8 and 14 weeks of work for an average-sized flat. In our guide how much does it cost to renovate a flat we break down items, quality ranges and a real example from the area, so you can do the sums at your own pace. If you’d rather get a quick first estimate, the calculator gives you one in a minute.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a full renovation take?
It depends on the size and scope, but as a benchmark: a 70-90 m² flat in Tarragona usually takes between 8 and 14 weeks of building work. Before we start we give you a phase-by-phase schedule and review it with you every week, so you always know exactly where things stand.
Can I keep living at home during the work?
For a full renovation we don’t recommend it: floors, services, the bathroom and kitchen all come up, and day-to-day life gets very awkward. Most of our clients arrange to be elsewhere for those weeks, and in exchange the work moves faster and ends up costing less.
Can the quote go up halfway through the job?
No, not if you don’t change the project. We work with a fixed-price quote broken down by item: what you sign is what you pay. If something unforeseeable turns up once we open things up — an old drainpipe in the Eixample in poor condition, for example — we show it to you, price it separately, and you decide before we touch anything.
Do you handle the building licence with Tarragona City Council?
Yes. We take care of the licence, the technical documentation and waste management. In the Part Alta, where there’s protected heritage inside the old town walls, we also handle what the Council requires for listed features. You never have to queue at a counter yourself.
